A Very Good copy. A Christian tract that encourages temperance. Aimed toward younger readers, the pamphlet lists reasons to abstain from drinking alcohol. Authored by Reverend Austin Dickinson. Tract No. 233 of the American Tract Society. Subtitled with, "[A Premium Tract.]" The American Tract Society (ATS) is an evangelical organization that was founded in 1825 as the result of a merger between the New York Religious Tract Society (founded in 1812) and the New England Religious Tract Society (founded in 1814). Upon its founding, ATS became the first organization in the United States whose express mission was to hand out Christian tracts.
